Matthew 6:14-15 New International Version (NIV)
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
I copied the description of this book, it reads:
“I pray that God forgive them...”
Corrie Ten Boom stood naked with her older sister Betsie, watching a concentration camp matron beating a prisoner. “Oh, the poor woman,” Corrie cried. “Yes. May God forgive her,” Betsie replied. And, once again, Corrie realized that it was for the souls of the brutal Nazi guards that her sister prayed.
Both woman had been sent to the camp for helping the Jews. Christ’s Spirit and words were their guide; it was His persecuted people they tried to save—at the risk of their own lives; it was His strength that sustained them through times of profound horror.
Here is a book aglow with the glory of God and the courage of a quiet Christian spinster whose life was transformed by it. A story of Christ’s message and the courage woman who listened and lived to pass it along—with joy and triumph!
WOW ~ I read this book and it's powerful. As I began to day to write on forgiveness, Corrie Ten Boom came immediately to my mind. True acts of forgiveness and trusting God.
Daily I have thoughts of forgiveness. Forgiveness God has given me, plus forgiveness I have given others. There is one forgiveness that needs to happen in order to live in peace. That forgiveness is of one's self. Yes, forgiving yourself can be harder than it might seem. There are moments in life when something comes rushing back into your mind and you must remind yourself who you are today in God.
It is wasted time to play the what if game in life. For example, what if I had done this, instead of that! What if this had not happen to me and my life would be different? What if's in life will drive you crazy and looking through eyes of hope is a key to victory. Even though Corrie Ten Boom had been through the hardest of times in life, she pressed forward. Each of us have been through hard times and we are not to compare our hardest times. We must trust in God and know that those hardest of times where directed by God in victory. Casting down thoughts of things we can not change and changing the things we can.
I admire people who get back up again. I have heard stories of lives that have been changed because of one yes to God. Surrendering your will to the will of God is not always easy. We can not figure everything out in life. Things happen and times are hard, but there is a plan that unfolds. (Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, A promise and A Future).
Do you feel trapped in your life right now? You are looking for a way out of the sorrow and needing to feel that hope in God? It takes you letting go my friend of the hurt and wrong done to you. It takes you forgiving yourself, others and knowing God forgives. It takes an "I" to see things God's way. I may not have all the answers "I" want today, but one. That answer is God and his plan continues as a new day begins. No way to compare myself to Corrie Ten Boom except her determination to make a difference.
If any of you feel trapped and discouraged, purpose to look up and make a difference. You can press through whatever you face today and trust God has this. It takes a determination and not stopping. I am not saying it's easy to press forward at times, but it is important to move forward. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
