In walking close to the water at the beach, you can look back to see footprints in the sand. I remember as a kid, I always wanted to go to the beach. That did not happen for me.
My parents really didn't like the beach and I only saw pictures of it. But when I got older, I went to the beach. The water always amazed me how powerful it was coming in and then slowly going out. I saw that the footprints stayed for awhile.
Then I read a poem on FOOTPRINTS in the Sand. It spoke about one sit of footprints and they belonged to Jesus. It during the hard time of life when Jesus carries you. Such a wonderful pictures of how we are not alone in life.
Isaiah 46:4-5 New International Version (NIV)
4 Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
5 “With whom will you compare me or count me equal?
To whom will you liken me that we may be compared?
I was once young and now I am older. I have seen many things in my lifetime and have learned to trust in God. He carries me when I have issues and I don't understand his complete plan. I dig deeper into the word of God and find scriptures of hope. I know that he is able to handle anything that I face. I must turn my thoughts to his thoughts and let hope arise.
My granddaughters laugh when they see my gray hair and tell me to call my friend Jenny who makes the gray go away. I find that gray does say we have lived longer than youth and we can gain wisdom throughout our years. I am a person who is determined to make things better and not become bitter. I stop asking why as much and lean to God for strength. So many things can change suddenly in our lives and we are left to deal with it. A new normal is not always fun or easy.
Just like the big waves that come suddenly upon the shore or the small waves that just remind us that we don't control the waters. A higher power in God, has created the earth and each of us for purpose. A new day brings hope, faith and love to each of us. The things we think about are important and not to get trapped into wrong thinking. God is amazing and his love endures forever!
MY prayers continue for those who read my blog, your family and friends! Thank you for taking the time to read this and plant hope within your heart of a better today.
