This example brings me into a spiritual example as well. Jesus wants us to follow his plan (Rules) for our lives. There are things we can do and things we should not do. The Bible is a roadmap of the past, the present and the future. Guess what? Adults get upset when you tell them to just follow what the Bible says in life. Casting down your own thoughts and imaginations to grab onto God's plan.
2 Corinthians 10:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
Were set into place to keep us safe, not to make us made.
Taking every thought captive. Think about that for a moment, every thought is a lot of thoughts. Maybe we don't think of breaking the rules as disobedience or maybe even sin. I have found that wrong is wrong and right is right. We know something is wrong, we should not do it. I remember as a kid, my mom would say it's only a little white lie. I didn't understand that because I thought a lie was a lie. It turns out later in life, I would find that I was right. A little is a lie, there are no little lies or big lies. There are no color to lies either, they are just lies. Be careful what you say and take those thought captive. Go to the Lord before you make decisions and choices that will affect your life plus others.
RULES ~ TEACHING ~ LEARNING ~ GROWING in KNOWLEDGE
2 Timothy 3:16-17 New International Version (NIV)All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
There are laws of our land, laws of our soul and a way that is better. Drivers get frustrated with other drivers for not following the rules. Road rage can happen and that is dangerous. Parents and teachers get frustrated with kids not listening plus following their rules. Lives are changed as a result of someone taking things into their own hands and not allowing the right thing to happen. The list can go on and on. Let us go to the scriptures within the Bible for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in what is right. Let us allow God to restores our own hearts, change us and equip with right words plus actions.
When I decided to follow the rules of God, I started changing from the inside out. People saw a difference in my attitude and my heart became happy. Things do not always change over night, but a process of life. God can and will make your life better when you turn to him. Allow him to show you the way, connect with others and begin again if needed.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
