RUNNING THE RACE ~
Knowing the course is important
Psalm 119:1-8The Message (MSG)
1-8 You’re blessed when you stay on course,
walking steadily on the road revealed by God.
You’re blessed when you follow his directions,
doing your best to find him.
That’s right—you don’t go off on your own;
you walk straight along the road he set.
You, God, prescribed the right way to live;
now you expect us to live it.
Oh, that my steps might be steady,
keeping to the course you set;
Then I’d never have any regrets
in comparing my life with your counsel.
I thank you for speaking straight from your heart;
I learn the pattern of your righteous ways.
I’m going to do what you tell me to do;
don’t ever walk off and leave me.
GOD HAS A PLAN FOR OUR LIVES ~
Each of us have a course design by God. We can know the course on certain things, but there will be times when don't know the course ahead of us. It all becomes about trusting God in all situations of life and staying on the main course which is the word of God and doing what is right. It's not always easy to do the right thing, but I have found in my life it's a must to do the right thing.
RUN THE RACE ~
Hebrews 12:1-3 The Message (MSG)
Discipline in a Long-Distance Race
1-3 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!
FINISH LINE ~
One day we will end our race on earth and enter Heaven. What we do on earth matters daily. Being an example of kindness and sharing life with others. Our example will go on far longer than we might know. Purpose this a good day and purpose positive thoughts. I am so proud of Brookley, Ashley, Willow and Chad. I actually cried during the race, I found myself so happy that the girls had their parents running with them. I always wanted my mom to do something with me, but her focus wasn't on me that way. Even as an adult, I saw the joy on kids faces Saturday and the memories they made will last a life time. After the race, we had breakfast and shared how fun it was. Talking about next year and hoping I can run it with them. I must train and begin to get myself into shape. I love my granddaughters and family more than words can say. I'm here today, praying for you, your family and friends. Thank you for taking time to read this, planting hope and sharing life with me.
