Joshua 1:9 New International Version (NIV)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
I was driving home from Napa and looked up to see a hot air balloon coming down toward the road. It was further away than it looked and I wondered if the people thought they were going to land on the road instead of the field close by. Everything turned out good and they landed in a good spot. I immediately thought of how God said to be strong and courageous. We must remember that the Lord is with us no matter where we go.
There are dangers in somethings we do in life. Going up in a hot air balloon would brings some thoughts of being in the sky and yet so normal. If you live in Napa or close to Napa, you can see hot air balloons on most any clear day. There is someone who checks the weather and knowns the conditions of wind. For the most part, you know you are safe and you will see a beautiful view.
Let's take the fear of the unknown to a different level. Suddenly something happens in your family and you are face with unknown things. I can think of many things that can suddenly happen and I also can see how God was right there. Nothing is too big for him and he gives us wisdom in handling what we face. Facing the new day with courage and promises from God's word. We must remember to put on the full armor of God daily.
Ephesians 6:10-20 New International Version (NIV)
The Armor of God
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
My prayers continue for the readers of my blog, your family and friends.
