2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version (KJV)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God doesn't give us the spirit of fear, but our minds begins to think when things suddenly happen. It was 1988 when my brother died on Christmas day from cancer. I remember being disappointed that God did not give him a miracle of life. Yet, someone told me that the miracle was God taking him to Heaven and he was no longer in pain. I guess it is the way we look at things in life. I just knew I wanted him to live but God's plan wasn't the same as mine. I did not want him to be pain anymore from cancer. He was only 37 years old and went through a lot in life. He never married or had any kids in life. It felt like his life was cut short and my only sibling.
Disappointment = sadness or displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of one's hopes or expectations.
I know that God's plan continues to unfold for each of us. It is what we do with our thoughts and actions that matter. We know that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139:14 New International Version (NIV)
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Disappointment ~
It can come in many different ways but our attitude through it makes a difference.
Can you see how God created you to be different? Only you can accomplish the things he created you to do. Life is so short and your purpose continues. Stop looking back to see what you should have done, but what you can do this day! This is a great day to share a smile, hope and encouragement to others. Be the one who puts smiles on faces and shares hope. We just never know what one person faces in a new day or in life in general.
Remember that God does not give the spirit of fear and you can do anything! Put your mindset to positive and go about doing good. It sounds so simple and yet we are humans. Humans make mistakes and say the wrong thing at times. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
