The news arrived awhile ago about Ashley (My daughter in law) having a baby. Chad and the girls were so excited and the big wonder if the baby will be a boy or girl. Nobody knows yet and we hold onto the fact of a healthy baby. A friend Ramie and I, thinks the baby is a boy or most everyone else thinks a girl. All of us just want a healthy baby either way. There is excitement and knowing that December will be here before we know it.
Jeremiah 1:4-5 New International Version (NIV)
The Call of Jeremiah
4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
BIRTH ~
God has created each us for a purpose
God is the one who gives life and his plan begins to unfold. The news of a baby brings planning ahead and getting ready for the birth day. God has a big job created each of us and planning the date. I realize that each of us have different experiences of a father in a home. Many kids grow up in single family homes. Many kids grow up in Foster Care and the loss of their own parents in their lives. Kids can grow up without a father who becomes a dad. The man who plays with them, supplies for them and teaches them about life. Also, many great men who do supply and take care of their kids.
My husband (Terry) was a child who lived with his grandparents for the first five years of his life. He was spoiled in many ways, but his grandparents favorite. He had two older brothers and one older sister at the time of his birth. Nobody knows the depth of why he lived with his grandparents. The point is the importance of grandparents in a life too. As Terry grew older, his grandpa taught him to work for things he needed. He would mow lawns and learn about Jesus at this grandparents house.
FATHER'S DAY ~
The man who teaches you and you learn from, isn't always your dad.
God the Father has created you for greater things in life. His plan is the same as for Jeremiah in the Bible (A plan, A promise and A future). Terry stepped up to learn about God from a child. He continues to live by faith and does his best according to the word.
THE NEWS OF A BABY ~
I will never forget the day I told Terry we were having a baby. We didn't know until the birth day that we had a baby girl (Tracy). The excitement that filled our souls. Terry went out that day and bought a cute little pink dress for her. He came walking in to the hospital carrying the dress and the biggest smile ever. A few years passed and we would get the news of a baby coming. Once again, we didn't know until the day of birth, but the baby was a cute little boy. A proud dad would buy a baseball cap for that little boy. Our kids are now kid/adults. They have children of their own and now Chad is a proud dad of a baby on the way.
I can only think of how God feels about each of us. We are his children and the excitement that is there when he created us. Let us begin to look up and hold tight to the promises of God. He wants to prosper us as our soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Ashley had to go for this sonogram alone. The coronavirus has made us shelter in place. I am sad that my son missed this special moment of hearing their child's heartbeat with his wife. It's still so very special and we must do what we must do. The excitement of the baby is so high. December will be here before us know it. So excited!
I turned 65 this year and can look back to see how quickly life changes. Kids grow up quickly and have kids of their own. I'll never forget the day my daughter called and said she was going to have a baby. Her and her husband saw their daughter's first picture of the baby together. Sharing that moment of life and crying with joy. Tracy married a man who has three sons, but now he would be the father of a girl. Yesterday, he was putting together a little kitchen for Averie and she turns 2 soon.
It's important to be present in others lives. Sharing good times and hard times is part of it all. Sharing the love of God and kindness with others. I want to wish all the Father's who are true Dad's a Happy Weekend. Plus all the amazing step dads out there and your own dad. No matter the case, we can thank God for being alive and his amazing love. I find peace when I talk to God and I find courage to do the things I must do in life too. Doing what is right, is just right. To all the single moms who does both jobs mom and dad. My prayers continue of each of you, your family and friends.
Happy Father's Day Weekend
