20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Hebrews 11:1-3 ~ New International Version
Faith in Action
11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
You can read on in Hebrews Chapter 11 to find men and women having life challenges. The chapter is filled with hope and new beginnings. Each day we are presented with new things and our faith is what keeps us going. Look to the mountain and remember the words, "faith as a grain of a mustard seed". That's a little bit of faith but behind it, is God's power.
Have you ever been faced with something that you needed to stir up your faith? I certainly had many times like this. Calling upon the name of God and asking largely that he helps the situation. I have seen miracles of life and I hold tight to those moments as I face a new moment. It was almost a year ago when I had a sudden heart attack. I didn't know it was heart attack because I didn't have all the normal systems like hurting arm, breathing problems or feeling sick. I had a strong pressure in my chest that would not go away. I then found out that you should always call an ambulance and not take it on yourself to be driven there by someone else.
Being alone at the hospital, made me realize how much more I wanted my family there. In fact, when I heard the doctor say heart attack, I knew to ask God for help. When I got out of emergency, my family was waiting in my room and that made me feel less scared. I heard the encouraging words of my daughter (Tracy) who had been through such a hard test too. My stent would go to my heart and her test went inside her head. God brought her through with a great testimony and so did I.
People help us by encouraging words and I'm so grateful to God for that. I think everybody is scared at times of life and it's okay to show it. It's good to give testimonies of life and that stirs up faith for others too. Others have told me because of my stories of life, they feel hope. I like that feeling of hope because it like a star that shines in the sky. You just know that God is at work and that God is doing something in your life.
There will be times we face things alone. Just remember that God is on your side and hears your prayer. Prayer is simply talking to God and you develop a trust. You might need to remind yourself of a miracle like I did, but there is always hope.
New American Standard BibleResults of JustificationTherefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
