Ephesians 2:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
What did you do on Easter Sunday? I went to church and helped in kids ministry. Then my church had a service at night at the Uptown Theater. I had lunch with my family and over all, a great day. Stories of what God did in one day and how that day continues in our lives. The power of God is real and alive from generation to generation.
Proverbs 9:11-13 New International Version (NIV)
11 For through wisdom your days will be many,
and years will be added to your life.
12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
Lots of people heard the story of Jesus yesterday. Some gave their hearts to the Lord and will begin a new life in him. Others might have renewed their relationship with Jesus. I was talking with a woman last night and she began to say how her past was not good. I said that sin is sin and God resorts lives. At the end of our conversation, I reminded her that sin is sin and Jesus forgives it all. There are no big sins and little sins.We all have sinned the Bible says:
Romans 3:23-24 New International Version (NIV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Easter helps us think about what Jesus did for each of us. Things change and lives either become better or bitter. Stories continue in the Bible of a miracle working Jesus. We walk this earth and sometimes wonder what's next in life. I have learned to live in knowing GOD IS ABLE and resting in that fact. I've seen miracles and I been through sorrows. I have found my strength, courage and grown in wisdom over the years.
Have you ever had one of those days that you just don't want to be over? I certainly have and Easter was one of them. I had so many people contact me and say uplifting words. It felt a little like Christmas with gifts of words. I value words that are kind and seeing myself through others in a positive way. I had words that were negative spoken over me and it was a process to get through them. They still might pop back into my mind, but I remind myself who I am in God and the truth of right words.
I hope today you see yourself the way God does and allow freedom to enter your mind. Romans 12:1-2 speaks of renewing your mind. Our choices totally affect our day and I see that so clearly now. Your choices do the same for your life. If you haven't excepted Jesus into your heart it's easy. Ask God to forgive you of all your sins and turn from you old ways. Find a good church that teaches the Bible in a truthful way, read scriptures, play music that uplifts your soul and connect with positive people.
If you need pray today, I am praying for you, your family and friends. God is able to handle your now.
