HOW DO I PRAY?
Matthew 6:9-13 New International Version (NIV)
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
There is a lot inside this prayer. Lord teach me to pray and seek you with all my heart. I must learn to forgive and forget somethings in life. I must guard my life and not be lead into temptation. Giving honor to God in all things and know that God will deliver me from the evil one. This is the same for you. We have decisions to make and we can learn from each day of life.
Comes to us in different forms
I often think of thoughts as temptation. When I go to a big beautiful house, I fight back thoughts of jealousy or why can't I have that. Moments that just run through your brain of knowing exactly why I don't have that now. My planning of life wasn't the same as theirs. I didn't save money or was even wise with money at times of younger years. I see the why of many things, but it doesn't mean that I don't fight negative thoughts. The Bible says:
JAMES 4:7-9 (NIV)
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
THOUGHTS ARE POWERFUL ~
As soon as I release my negative thoughts or wonder, I feel better. I press forward in life with being happy for someone else. I don't know their journey or how they got to where they are today. Maybe they went through a terrible time in life and sacrificed far more than anyone knows. God's knows our hearts and desires of it. He wants the best for us, but we know use wisdom in saving money, planning ahead for retirement and living in a land of freedom of choices. Our choices do affects us and others.
JOHN 8:32 (NIV)
32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
TEMPATATION ~ Can be other things too. The things we know to stay away from, we must. If our thoughts are turned over to God, we think different. If our actions are turned over to God, we act different. There is just something different about people who trust the Lord with all their hears and lean not to their own understanding.
Giving up negative things or people who are negative in our lives is a must. There are people who are just takers in life. They don't want the best for you, but the best for themselves. We fight against that temptation of holding onto to people or things we aren't suppose to have. Pray and seek the Lord with all your heart and ask him for friendships that challenge you to become better and not bitter.
My prayers continue for each one who reads this, your family and friends. Thank for you for your time today and know that I do care.
