LIVE KINDNESS ~
Ephesians 4:31-32 New International Version (NIV)
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God for gave you.
LIVE THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT ~
Galatians 5:22-23 New International Version (NIV)But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
December to me about kindness and love. We think of someone and want to give them a gift on Christmas. If we could only remember that time is the best gift ever. Just a cup of coffee with a friend, a text message from someone who lives far away or the old fashion card in the mail. A picture drawn by a child and hug on your wall. Memories of yesterdays and the hope of a new day. Jesus who gave it all and us who try daily to make good choices. The mind is a powerful thing and what we think upon matters.
Romans 12:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
A Living SacrificeTherefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
What will I think upon today? The goodness and mercy of God? The things I do have in life? Letting go of what I can not change and changing the things I can? Smiling at a stranger and just opening a door for someone? Living in the forgiveness of God and casting down my own imagination of things? The list can go on an done and it's so powerful to keep your mind set right.
MEMORY LANE ~
As a kid, I wanted to grow up to have kids and see them happy. I wanted to be the best mom and I made mistakes sometimes. I let them down and I know that. I also did some amazing fun things with them. I can't blame myself for what I wish I had done, so it lead me into being a better grandma. I do my best daily to live what I teach. It's not easy to forgive yourself over somethings, but you can't move forward if you don't. It isn't about past Decembers, but this December. It's about living the love of God and knowing this is a better day than yesterday.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
