THE LORD'S FAVOR ~
Psalm 61 New International Version (NIV)
For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David.
1 Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
5 For you, God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Increase the days of the king’s life,
his years for many generations.
7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name
and fulfill my vows day after day.
DAY AFTER DAY ~
Each of us can sing our own praises to God.
Over time, I have learned there is shelter in the wings of God. Throughout my life, I had times of no rest, worry, doubt and my own situations took me far from God's peace. In younger years, so many things I didn't understand and focused on the why of things. I needed to focus on how to go through things with the right attitude and no become angry at God. After all, the Bible does talk about a time for everything. That mixes the good with the bad.
It is amazing how our thoughts can carry us millions of miles, without leaving a chair. Thoughts and words are so powerful. God has our beginning of life and our end of life already planned. It is the
in between that we need to focus on and plan ahead.
God goes before us:
Deuteronomy 31:8 ~
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
God has our backs covered:
Psalm 23:6 ~ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
DAY AFTER DAY ~
Our choices matter and the way we view things. I was talking with someone the other day and their opinion was quite different than mine. We view the same situation so different. God has made us different on purpose. Each of us has our own decisions to make and staying on the path we know is right. There are times when we come to cross roads of life. Which decision should I make and it takes talking to someone, prayer and resting in what you think.
God is my rock, hightower and the one I run too in praise and prayer. I'm not who I was in my 30's of life and I'm happy with that. Daily I learn, I grow and choose to do the right thing. Sometimes the right thing can be very hard to do. I have some tears that no one can see but God. He knows my heart and my acts of kindness is with a heart of good intentions. It's important to keep doing the right thing in life.
This day favor is ahead of you. This day choices matter. This day you can do it, whatever you are facing know that God has gone before you. My prayers continue for the readers of my blog, your family and friends. Purpose this a good day!
