Psalm 42:1-5 New International Version (NIV)
1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”
4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
among the festive throng.
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
GOD OF LOVE and PEACE ~
It is now day 2 of a brand new year and our choices matter
I choose to put my hope in the Lord and allow him to use my life. Some of that is by telling stories of how God has brought me through hard things. I remember life at 31 and excited we just bought our first home. We had two small children (5 years and 2 years old). I would get a call from my husband's boss telling me he had a small accident and meet him at the hospital. There was a construction accident and he feel over 40 feet. He would walk out of hospital and a miracle he was alive. The next day his knee was huge and we found out it was a broken knee cap. He had fractured ribs too. Our life would change and we would experience much stress. It became a huge life change for us.
I found myself angry at God and I didn't understand why God didn't keep him safe on his job. I told someone that and they shared that God did give him a miracle of life. His face should have been smashed into the ground and it was not hurt at all. His hard hat kept his face safe. I guess it is how we look at things at times of emergency's. It could have been much worse and he could have died. I find myself today measuring life by the good of it. Looking for something good out of a storm of change.
PEACE IS KNOWING WHO YOU PUT YOUR TRUST IN ~
I am not the person I was in my 30's. I've been through many things and I learned to put my trust in God through it all. Life changes us and we can't allow the hard times to make us bitter. I have learned to put my faith in God and allow him freedom to mold me.
Romans 10:17 New International Version (NIV)
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
DAY 2 ~
It means you made it through day. Life has us in different spots of life. Some of us live in the land of peace, stress, worry, doubt, good times, greater times and the list goes on. Some are younger and some are older than me. I've learned things from younger and older people in my life. I've learned from my own mistakes as well. Purpose this a good day and make the best of it.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
