A story written generations ago and such an example of courage to face the giant in our own lives. You can read the story in The Bible:1 Samuel Chapter 17.
David is first told of how young he was and not experienced. Look what was said:
1 Samuel 17:33 New International Version (NIV)
Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.”
But David, spoke up for himself. Look what was said:
1 Samuel 17:34-37 New International Version (NIV)
But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.
36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”
EXPERIENCE ~ COURAGE ~ WISDOM
All these things are found inside of David. He didn't allow fear to overtake him. I don't know his complete thoughts, but David was a warrior called of God. He stepped into his purpose and battled the giant. The giant did not win and David was seen different from that point on in life.
This story today is about a giant that you might face. Each of us face things on a daily bases and we need to call the courage up inside of us. Not only courage but wisdom to handle things. People gone before us fought battles we know nothing about. Some battles we do know and we see the wisdom behind lives. Maybe you fight your own inside battle of faith, hope and even love. Will it all ever come together and how long it will last. I know that each situation in life is different and our battles are fought. I know that I've had faith that help me stand through different situation and I know I didn't have any faith.
Family and friends can encourage us but the bottom is you. You need to stir up some faith, know that God gave ability to stand against the enemy of your soul and you can do this. What ever you face, face with the power of God and know that you are stronger than you might think.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
