3 I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
DARK HOLDS LIGHT ~
Fan into flame the gift of God
Grandparents and praying people who have gone before us matter. I believe I had a grandmother who prayed. I feel it so strongly and I choose to believe that. I didn't know my grandparents, but I did meet one grandmother. I don't remember much, but I remember feeling like she was a stranger. She lived in Missouri and I lived in California. I was just a little girl and my parents took me there. It made me want a grandmother in my life, but it didn't happen. So I grew up to be a mom and now I am a grandmother. I purpose to be in my grandchildren's lives. I am a grandmother who plays with them, listens to them and prays for them. I cherish moments with them.
I feel like God speaks to my heart to FAN INTO FLAME the gift of God and share it with you. Teach others and make memories with children plus grandchildren. Just like fireworks high into the sky and exciting moments of life. Some moments can never be compared to others, but fireworks are fireworks that light up the sky. Jesus is Jesus who lights up our inside and it shines on the outside. People watch our examples and let us be the best example we can be of Jesus to others. Just like a shinny star!
Psalm 121:1-2 New International Version (NIV)1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains--
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
My prayers continues for you, your family and friends.
