Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their fathers.
This picture was taken a few years ago. A girl and her PA sharing special moments. Willow has always loved fishing and sharing time with her PA. There were no fish at this current spot but it sure was fun trying. Even last night, Willow text me to say good night to PA. Kids watch our examples and I can see how grandparents can make a difference too. Terry saw this picture and said, "I need to make special time while these girls are little". He loves fishing too.
TIME IS A GIFT ~
God connects us to live for purpose
I never knew my grandparents, but I did meet my grandmother once. I was never told stories of her life or even lived in the same state. This was just a one time thing and a stranger to me. I feel sad over this, because I have the privilege to be a grandparent now and I see the importance of time with grandchildren. I feel as if I really missed out on things not living close to them.
Psalm 103:17-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children's children,
18 to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.
TIME IS A GIFT ~
God's love remains the same over generations to generations.
Isaiah 46:4 English Standard Version (ESV)
4 even to your old age I am he,
and to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save.
Inside of me is still a little girl. The little girl who loves to play with my grandchildren. I love to takes walks with them, ride bikes, watch them play outside and any sports games to attend. I realize right now we are living in a shelter in place lifestyle. A virus has hit our world and the year 2020 will be remembered as a pandemic year. Yet, I still can brings smiles to my grandchildren over face time or a app called Marco Polo. Smiling little faces who try to say HI or good night to me. It just makes my day. I also get to see two of them every other week at their dad's house. I pray with them and share hope of a new day. One day closer to this shelter in place unlock us to freedom again.
I am looking forward to Summer and time outside. Just the warm of the air and calm around me bring peace to my soul. I will not be going to Disneyland to celebrate birthdays this summer, but so grateful that we are all well and doing good. It's not about what we can't do right now, but what we can do. We can keep a positive attitude, hope and spread positive words with others. We have cell phones, texting, Facebook and the internet. What a blessing that is to all who have it. Just think if this happened when I was kid in 1960's. I am grateful if it had to happen, it happen in 2020 with so much technology.
Children are a gift to each of us. Whether you are a grandparent or not, you have kids you know and can spur them on in life. Your example is far greater than you might realize to a child. A child likes to talk or have you watch them play. Sometimes, it's the simple things that matter and will always be remembered. I miss volunteering in school and hearing the kids say, "Hi Ms Sparkie". Sometimes I would her stories of their night or excitement of a trip they were going to take. I miss them greatly and know my example matters to them. I can still make a difference over Zoom calls to classroom. I am blessed to have teachers who are my friends at Donaldson Way Elementary. The principal is amazing and my friend too. I realize I do make a difference and have plans to continue that when I can.
Purpose this a good day! Don't forget that your example matters in all you do. Someone watches your life and your words can spur them on too. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Never stop praying and believing BIG.
