Genesis 8:22 English Standard Version (ESV)
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”
CHANGE ~
Happens to each of us as well. The Bible speaks of us turning from our sin and allow God to change our life. God speaks of how we are guard our heart and not to walk with the wicked. Choices become ours and we can grow from mistakes in life or we can be hindered by them. I want to be like the tree planted by the streams of water and yield fruit in its season.
Psalm 1 English Standard Version (ESV)
The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked
1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
SEASONS OF LIFE ~
Just like the tree, my life has changed over the years. Each day is a new beginning but it often brings thoughts of yesterdays of life. That is when the wind comes and the foundation of God is strong. I may not always understand the why of things, but I've learned to trust in God.
For example, my husband retired at 30 years of being a carpenter with a medical disability. It has turned our world upside down. Learning to live on way less money, budgeting everything we do and it's hard at times. It has put so much stress on us in some ways and less in other ways. No more worry about a pay check coming, but learning to balance that small pay check is hard. We look back to see how we could have planned better in younger years, but we didn't. We can not beat ourselves for our mistakes, but do the best we can now. It brings me to see how being planted by the word of God is important.
My husband and I now have a way to teach younger people to plan for retirement. Some people plan great and others needs our advice. So we do need to think ahead and plan somethings out. Just like our soul, let us not forget to water our lives with word and stand strong in doing the right thing in life. So many changes in one day and seasons that do come together to change us.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
