Philippians 4:8-9 English Standard Version (ESV)
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
PRACTICE = PEACE
God's word is our example of having the right attitude in life. Lots of negative things happen to each of us in life, but over time, we can learn from our own mistakes. Our attitude should be one of praise and being grateful for the things we do have in life. There is something to be said about practicing the word of God and choosing to live in the peace of it.
There are times in life when I needed to change my own attitude. I can see how my reaction to things makes a difference. I can bring calm to a situation or I can stir up more frustrations. Have you ever noticed how your attitude can do the same? Peace is here and ready for us to receive it. Our example is far more important than we might realize. There are always behind the scenes of each our lives.
ATTITUDE ~
Philippians 2:14-16 English Standard Version (ESV)
14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
KINDNESS IS SUCH A GIFT ~
Doing the right thing, isn't always easy. It takes courage to face somethings and wisdom to speak or not to speak in life. Each day we can learn and grow into a better person. Leaving the past alone and pressing forward into God's plan for your life. I hope today you purpose great thoughts and actions to others, but to yourself too!
There have been seasons in my life when I wasn't so good to myself. Thinking the worse and crying a lot over things I could not change. I had many wasted days going around a mountain that was never going to move. I had to put my trust in God, let go of things and press forward. It took time for me, but God in all his goodness, changed my outlook at things. Little by little I started growing in God's word and seeing myself the way he does. It made such a difference and my positive attitude developed. I never wanted to be a negative person or live in the past. I had to make a decision to trust God, let go and let God bring new beginnings. Today, I am a positive person and an overcomer of negative things in life.
I love how my granddaughters want to help me with my blog. They are also wanting to write their own blog to encourage others. My example shows and so does yours. Let others see your good side of life and let God handle the things you are struggling with in life. Find a good friend who you can share real life with and you can hold on for each other throughout life. If you don't have a good friend, pray for one. I remember praying for real friendships and God gave them to me. I have people in my life who I trust and I know that are there for me.
Prayer makes such a difference. It changes you and that changes the way you see things. Some of my unanswered prayers have become my true answered prayers. Down the road, it makes sense to me the why of somethings in life. I trust God with all my heart and I hope you do too.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
