but a kind word cheers it up.
1 Peter 5:7 New International Version (NIV)
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Philippians 4:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
CAST IT OFF ~
I know that each of us deal with stress in different ways. It's time to call up some scriptures that tell us to cast it off and allow God to handle it. The truth is, we are human and the stress of change doesn't work well with all of us. The is a virus in our country and many cities are shutting down. If you are 65 or over in my State California, you are told to stay in your house and away from people. People carry germs and being older you are more likely to get it. It scares an older person because now you have to watch out for germs even more. Some are isolated within this homes alone. Some are in care home and can't see loved ones. It is a scary time of life, but we can still connect. Phone calls, text messages, Facebook or even drive by someone's house and talk to them through the window. When Terry's mom was alive and in a care home, we took our grandkids to her window. They stood outside free from germs and she smiles big. Even if you can't go see someone, you are can PRAY. Pray that they will feel peace and not alone.
PANIC MOD ~
People are buying way too much. Leaving shelves empty and a rush for needs in lives. We can seen a bit of fear upon faces and in their lives. I talked to a young girl in college. She worked for Starbucks and was scared about school. She asked me questions about what was happening in our world. I took some time to speak to her and told her that God was the only one who could give peace. Reaching out by faith and trusting the process of our government. The look on her face suddenly changed. She said "you are right, I need begin to speak positive". We both smiles and I continued to say some people only know to panic, but once again, trust the process. A new normal but it's only temporarily until health gets under control.
Yes, our very own actions can make someone else feel peace! Try our best not to keep listening to the news and trust the process of our leaders. It's really all we can do and no reason to feel stress over something we can't do anything about. That is easy for me to say when it's not business that needs to shut down or facing a loss job during this. I do care and I am praying daily! I believe God will help each of us but I do know there will be stress. Do your best to get outside and feel the warmth of the sun. If no sun, just step outside and feel fresh air. If you see a need, help. If you can encourage someone, do it.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
