Hebrews 11:8-10 New Living Translation
It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.
9 And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise.
10 Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.
BY FAITH ~
As you continue to read Hebrews Chapter 11, you will find many other men and women who lived by faith. Their stories continue to inspire us and open our eyes to new beginnings. Not everything happened the way people thought it would. A faith that is unseen and a trust that is larger than the wonder if not. It is like seeing a glass of water half empty or half full. Many ways we are left to wait and wonder about the timing of things.
I am a person who has faith, but I also have times of wonder. When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up and be a great mom. I wanted to have children and share life with them. I never once thought about heartaches they might have or disappointments they might have in life. I only thought of being a great mom. Since those days, I have seen both my kid/adults to grow up with heartbreak over things and even some struggles in school. I guess I found out that life happens to each of us but in a different ways. I prayed and continue to pray daily for my children and grandchildren. I pray for each of you who read my blog as well. I don't know the depth of your story or your struggles but we all have struggles in life from time to time and must learn to rest in somethings.
Trusting God by faith is a choice. It becomes a deep determination that things will get better and choosing to push toward hope. Hope arises when we feel defeated at times and joy can be there through it all. I had the worse moments of life and find that inside my heart can be a joy unspeakable and I had the opposite arise too. Too many things to deal with in one day and I must remember who brings me moments of joy. The Lord is my strength and I choose to encourage myself on somedays of life. I can't change everything, but certainly can change my thoughts to better.
When I was a kid, I also heard about faith. Faith is a small mustard seed and it grows. Each of us are given a measure of faith according to the Bible. I have found as I stir up my faith, it stirs up hope and much more. Today, you might struggle with how God handles somethings in life. Maybe a loved one who went to Heaven way to soon, a loss of a job, sickness or struggles within your own family. God is the only one who can bring your peace through it. Look to him to pray, praise in hard times and reach out to a friend. Yesterday, I heard a story of someone who listen to me and reached out. God met them at where they were and they feel refreshed and restored! Only God can do that my friends. Wow moments that carry us through to another victory in God.
Today, choose faith and run God's way!
