BRIDGE ~ to new beginnings

IT IS TIME, TO GO FORWARD!

I took this picture from a Conference Room I was at last year.  Living in California and the lack of rain, has made the river low.  The bridge is still needed to travel across to the other side.  The bridge has purpose and looking at the blue skies behind the mountains is amazing.  A moment of a God's creation and knowing that his power is alive.

A Bridge is also thought of connection one side to another.  I like to view it as leaving the past and moving into a new beginning.

Do you ever feel like you, over think things?  I do and that only makes me think more in life. It is as if I am moving forward across the bridge of change and then suddenly begin to go backwards.   What if, how come into my mind or really?  When are things going to change?  Calling on God and waiting our turn.  We still need that connection that only God can give.  A deep breathe and determination to see what is on the other side of that bridge. I will not stop believing in God and his miracle working power.

As I read the story of Esther in the Bible (Esther Chapter 2), I find that it is about God's timing and God working on her behalf.  Taking her from a place of no father or mother, to a life with God.  It becomes her journey and words written on a page.  In our Wednesday class for women, we are doing a DVD Series by Beth Moore on Esther.  It is also titled, "It's Tough Being A Woman".  It takes us on a inside look at one's self and hearing a life story of one woman name Esther.  I do realize that men read my blog too and I believe it can be tough being a man as well.

This isn't about being a man or woman right now, but a child of God.  We are faced with circumstances that are unreal and hard to deal with in life.  My husband and I are dealing with something we never thought we would deal with being 60 years old. Retirement isn't what we thought it would be financially. We were blind sided by not figuring out a better plan when we were young.  Our journey didn't start at 60 and it hasn't ended yet.

Somethings in our lives can be totally planned out and then suddenly something happens to change it.  A strong foundation in God is needed and listen to others who have traveled roads you have not travel.  Their wisdom can help you stop you and help you make a better life.  Each day is a new beginning and we are still not pressing forward.  The Bible says:

Philippians 3:12-17  New International Version (NIV)
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

FORGETTING ~ is easier said than done
Humans tend to remind us what we did wrong in life.  I take personally responsibility for telling myself over and over what I did wrong in life.  When all along, God forgives our sins and never reminds of us it again. I am the one who reminds myself, not God.  It is totally wasted time by going around the same mountain of thoughts that only bring you down.  A mistakes, a sin, a wrong is wrong and not let it go.  Consequences come as a result of a wrong choice but it doesn't need to rule your life. God has come to give you a new beginning, new hope and a new day.  Don't waste it on the wrong side of the bridge of life.

As I write you daily, I speak to myself before you even see this.  I pray and ask for words to encourage and help you. I pray daily for the readers of my blog and your family/friends. Life is way to short to get stuck on crazy thoughts, but encourage yourself as David in the Bible did. I will serve the Lord and I will press toward the goal Jesus.  Choices my friends, choices matter!  Make good ones, no wait, make great ones!
