I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Build Your House on the Rock
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
The Authority of Jesus
28 And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,
BE WISE ~
The Bible is full of stories of life.
In younger years, I did not understand the scriptures of building your house on the rock. Just because we become an adult, we don't always understand scriptures. I couldn't figure out how a house could be build on a rock. I grew in understanding and realized it was the foundation of the house that made it solid. Then I realized that scripture is also spiritual. The spiritual side of life being solid in God and not moved in a negative way about situations of life. God has been so good to me and I find myself questioning things. I don't always understand the why of things, but I have learned to trust God with all my heart and soul. I know that good and bad things happen to each of us. People trusted Jesus when he walked this earth and some didn't. Just like today, I know people who trust Jesus and people who don't. I choose to live my life according to the Bible and trust Jesus.
My daughter daughters and I were talking about the Roxanne story yesterday. When Brookley was so little, she heard about the rock and sand Bible story. We began to tell us about Roxanne. I thought it was a knew friend she met in church. Then quickly she said, "NO NO when the rain comes and wind blows. She made hand movements of that and suddenly I knew it was the rock and sand. She laughed yesterday as she is ten years old now. She still remembered rocks and sand, plus Roxanne. Such a fun memory to share with you too.
I mentor others and some people tell me that I am wise. I guess I don't look at myself as wise at times, but I am. It's through situations that I have made wrong decisions and things turned out okay. It is God who creates miracle and keeps us on the right track of life. I might not be rich in dollars, but I certainly have all the things I truly need. Part of being wise, is teaching others how to do somethings different in life. Like saving for retirement, planning ahead and living in this day. I love my family and do my best to teach by actions too. Words are good, but I do believe that actions speaks louder than words. I have made a great foundation in God and i believe daily in miracles. I've seen them in big ones and small miracles. Daily life is a gift from God and should be cherished.
My prayers continue for you, you family and friends. Choose right thoughts and actions. Be the one who makes a difference in lives around you. Purpose this a good day!
