4 The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue,
to know the word that sustains the weary.
He wakens me morning by morning,
wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.
WORDS ~
Life and death
Proverbs 18:21 New International Version (NIV)
21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
BE KIND ~
Live kindness
I realize that life is moving past us fast. As we live this shelter in place life style, there are others out there doing their jobs. Putting their lives on the line to take care of others. Hospitals, police, firemen, 911 workers in all cases, store clerks, truck drivers and any essential business. I have many friends in these positions and kindness is not always shown to them. It's hard to hear how rude people are during this crisis. I would ask today that we join together in prayer for workers.
YOUR EXAMPLE ~
If we could only see that one act of kindness, can lead to another act of kindness.
Titus 3:4-7 New International Version (NIV)
4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
I have watched my granddaughters in preschool. They want to make friends, play and share time with their classmates. They moved up to Kindergarten and have a larger classroom. The excitement of telling me about a friend and the excitement to go back tomorrow. As kids grow up, they find out that not everyone in life is kind. There are kids who are bullies and tease others. Each year of school, seems to add another layer of attitudes of others. I love how my grandchildren as kind kids and big hearts. They enjoy helping their teachers and their friends. Their everyday life has changed since the virus has hit our world. No more school in a classroom but school online. Spring break was schedule to be a fun time away with their mom and step dad. Now they shelter in place with them but having fun outside with family. I would ask today that we pray for kids everywhere.
Lives have changed and learning new normals isn't always easy or wanted. Acts of kindness doesn't have to change. Just because we can't touch each other today physically, we can touch each other by words, calls, text messages or Facebook messages. We can reach out to someone that God puts on your heart today. I get excited when my phone rings and I see a little face on it. My granddaughters call and I love it. I have a funny story, the other day Isla kept calling me. She is five years old now and I could hear her voice but no face. She said, "wait, I know how to fit it". Guess what? She did and the biggest smile ever popped up. She only talk a few minutes but said, "I will call back". She called back later that morning and said, "are you still sitting there?". I started laughing and I said, "Yes, but I need to get up and do something". She said, "yes you do, bye". I love talking to her.
Purpose this a good day! Share a smile if someone FaceTimes you or even on a walk. You can keep social distancing and still say HI or good morning, good afternoon or good evening. I have been walking for a month now after shelter in place. I see neighbors I never saw before and people wave as they drive by too. I live in a mobile home park it's about 200 in our community. Not many people out at all, but when I do see someone, it's a big smile for sure.
REMEMBER ~
YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
