POLICE DEPARTMENT ~
I live in Napa Country and this is my son-in-law in the picture. Napa has chosen to support our Police Officers by Hug-a-Cop day Wednesday. An act of kindness for all they do for us daily.
I attend a church in Napa named, Hillside Christian Church and we have several police officers who attend there. I would like to give a shout out to my son-in-law (Sean), his dad (George who is retired now) and all the men/women who protect our county and several who are my friends. I know your families and happy to be a part of your lives. A special family friend Arnie who drives to a different county and is one amazing person too. The list can go on and on.
I'm proud of Sean and proud to be his mother-in-law. It makes my heart happy as I see the husband is he to my daughter and family man he is as well. A man who cares greatly and shows it. We are on a short family lake trip of fishing, jet skies, tubing and swimming. Time spent with family is important and then back to helping others.
Each day I pray for my son-in-law and other police officers. Men and women who fight battles we know nothing about in life. I remember just a few weeks ago, my husband walked out to our mail box and saw police officers, ambulance and a police swat team. What? We were nervous and there was a man who was inside him home with lots of guns. It last for several hours but later I found out my son-in-law was there. Just knowing that people protect us from violence, but then the prayers that will be okay and nobody gets hurt. It ended well and my heart was thankful.
My family and friends who are police officers have families too. They have little boys and little girls to go home too, a wife or a husband, moms and dads, aunts and uncles and the list goes on. They live their lives everyday in wonder of what will happen next. Yet, a peace of knowing they are doing what they were meant to do in life. We pray for protection of our cities and police officers. We pray for the protection of people as well.
There are police officers who are amazing and there are some not good. Yet, it holds in true in any job or any walk of life. We need to stand up for what is right, create chance to make our cities better and stand up for justice. Throughout the Bible, there are stories of change and how there was good and bad upon the people. They didn't have titles like police officers, there was violence among the land. God's words has always been true and there is good and evil in any profession. The Bible says:
The Bible says:
2 Chronicles 7:14 New International Version (NIV)
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Let us take it back to prayer on a daily bases. God can lead, but we must follow. God can speak but we must hear. God will show us and we must act kindness out. I thank God for men and women who sacrifice their times, their lives and their heart with me and our communities. Even if you don't live in Napa today, give some thanks to our Police Officer today!
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
