Philippians 3:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Last night I watched TV and saw people who stood outside in the freezing weather to watch a ball drop in New York. I saw TV announcers who were so cold and their job was to entertain the people at home and where they were. I started to wonder what makes a person stand out in the cold to watch the new year begin? What really shocked me was how people said they wear diapers to be able to stand there for over 12 hours to wait for that moment of the ball dropping. It was the first time I ever thought about the depth of this event.
It brings me to think about the time spent in God's house. So many things going on and our lives are so busy. I hope this year brings your closer to God and time in Church. Getting to know others and sharing life is amazing. I met people there who I still continue friendships and I have new friends too. Life is full of where our hearts are. I love taking my granddaughters to church. They tell me stories of what they learned and how there friends are important too. Things that bring us together and memories that remain over time.
This new year also will bring change. We know that each day is a new day and things begin. Some of plans will come to pass while we wait on other dreams to come true. I believe God's words is true and he is able to take care of what I face. I find joy and strength in knowing that the is able!
Isaiah 40:30-31 New International Version (NIV)
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Happy New Year!
Purpose time with God, family and friends.
If you haven't given you life to God, it's easy. Ask forgiveness of you sins and him into your heart. Making a life style of change and proposing time to grow in his word (Bible). Look around you to see who you purpose time and you will see where your heart is. I find time for my grandchildren and time for my family and friends. I purpose each morning to write you and pray over you, your family and friends. I know life can be stressful and peaceful. I have learned all seasons of life that God is right there. My attitude makes a difference and so does your. Your example will go further than you may imagine in life. Someone needs to see the Jesus in you and through you.
Be kind to one another and also to yourself!
Blessings and Happy New Year!
