Matthew 6:21 New International Version (NIV)For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
I read about David in the Bible and his story continues generations later. David was a man who loved God and made mistakes of life. Some of those mistakes were big and God still used him. Life did not end with David, but carries on through his family. It also carries on through each of us. We can read about his example and know he was a man after God's own heart.
Acts 13:22-23 New International Version (NIV)
22 After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’
23 “From this man’s descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he promised.
My question today is this, are you after God's will for your life? Do you know what you are suppose to be doing and are not? I am not a big question person, but I do want God's will in my life. Sometimes things trip us up and we miss out on certain things. Our choice to stay home from Church and missing connections ready by God. One smile or your presence makes a difference. As a Christian, I sometimes forget that I am used by God in many ways. My character matters and I search for answers I am never know in life. I have made mistakes and needed forgiveness. I have got back up after harsh words of others and stand stronger than ever today. I know who I am in God and I believe David did too. How about you? You are a child of God and his purpose may not be totally clear today, but it is clear that this new day set before you has purpose.
I was talking with someone who said they did not know God's purpose for their life. I tried to explain that purpose is doing what is right in life and as we grow closer to God, we just know certain things. I was in a class of friends last night and we shared the importance of coming together. Each of us shared something and that something can grow up from others lives. It was a great class of a Video by Priscilla Shirer about Discerning God's Voice. His voice is found in little things of life. Like a text message that you just know to send. Maybe a phone call to a person who is on your heart. Sending a letter or card to someone and just making a difference over little things. It doesn't have to be a big voice but a still small voice that tugs your heart.
WHERE YOUR HEART IS ~
I love helping adults get through hards things. I also love telling kids they are important. Each of us have a purpose and we just need to say YES to God. Somebody is waiting on your yes to continue their next step. We need examples before us and we should be one of those examples. As I grow older, I do wonder if people will remember me for being faithful in writing and faithful to God. I made big mistakes of my life and little mistakes. I have found my heart much like David, I just want to do the will of God. My heart is a heart of forgiving others who wronged me and forgiving myself for things. I value that you read my blog and share it. You just never know the depth of one life or what they might need to hear today. So hear this: YOU ARE IMPORTANT and YOUR LIFE MATTERS!
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
