I look at athletes who train for their sport. Focused on a physical exercise and skilled in competitive track and field events. They fix their eyes upon the race and desire to win. In most cases, everyone finished the race. Let me relate this to our spiritual lives.
Inside of me a desire to enter Heaven someday. I try hard daily to do the right and set my focus on what would God want from me. I realize that is spending time with him with a thankful heart but also time when I just don't understand life. My desire and focus is the same ~ Heaven and be kind while I live on earth.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 New International Version (NIV)The Need for Self-Discipline24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
I GET IT ~
Taking time to train my mind is important. Not to think upon the negative things or the past, but to allow freedom to enter my soul. Freedom from past words, freedom from hurts and disappointments and freedom to keep press forward with a positive attitude. I'm not perfect nor are you, but each of has this day to make decisions, show good actions and be an example of Jesus somewhere. Even if that somewhere is looking into the mirror of ourselves. Don't be so hard on yourself and allow yourself time to heal from things, grow from experiences and challenge yourself to become a better person and not a bitter person.
Life does have a way of throwing punches at us and I learn daily. We can't always fix things in life, but we learn from them. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Train your mind to overcome things faster and know that God's plan is still in play. Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, A promise and A future..
Run this race of life doing your best daily!
