APPLE ~ In the garden of Eden, the apple was a forbidden fruit according to many. However, the Bible never states the fruit was an apple. The Bible states the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis Chapter 2 and 3.
Genesis 2:4-9 NIV
Adam and Eve
4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
5 Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground. 7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
WARNING ~ each step in life is important and purposed! Be careful in what you do and who you listen too. The story of Adam and Eve continues to show us the importance of one decision in life. It leads to a lot more than one thought and changing lives forever. Adam and Eve wear told not to eat of the forbidden fruit, but when the temper (Devil) came by, she did it anyway. This reminds me of how each of us have our own decisions in life. Also, to guard ourselves because something that looks good, can be a very wrong thing for us.
There are warning signs for us and we must be careful in life. I am reminded of the road that splits in two directions. Do I turn left or right? Last year we went away to a retreat and there were signs that we should not go down this road. Yet, the guiding system said your destinations is ahead. As we continued, we felt an overwhelming feeling of this is wrong and turn around. We continued going straight and I actually cried at the death end. I felt a fear and I wanted out of there. We turned around and when we got back to the main road my heart felt a peace again. We then put the address in the system again and it took us around to the freeway and back to the same spot. What? Yes, the same spot but there was no way we were traveling down that road again. The point is a huge lesson is learned and never will travel that road again. We made a phone call and got the right directions.
The right directions are so important in life. The Bible leads us, guides and opens door to learn. Listen, read, plant hope and continue going on the path ahead with God. Not everything will turn out the way you think, but God plans always makes a way. Giving a hope and peace to rest in the middle of your heart. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Stay on the path God has chosen and be careful.
