If we could only see how God wants to help us daily. God is waiting on us to open the door to new beginnings of life and live in freedom of his power. Crossing over to trust him and leaving fear behind.
James 1:19-22 New International Version (NIV)
Listening and Doing
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
ANSWER THE DOOR ~
In real life, I sometimes don't want to open my door at home because I don't know who is on the other side. I was home alone a few weeks ago, it was dark and I heard this big knock on my door. I decided to look out the window first to see who it was. It turned out to be the Mail Man and he had a package. I open the door and there he was smiling with a package. Looking out of the window was a great action. It was the scared feeling away and I found myself pleased that I didn't just open the door.
What about opening the door for God? That can sometimes bring a scared feeling because we step into things we just aren't sure of in life. Saying yes to God has open amazing doors for me and opportunities to share God's love with others. I've made amazing friends over my last 18 years of life and had settled into an amazing church. It's community of people and it grows with new people too. Life is about what we give out at times. If we present ourselves friendly, then we make friends.
John 15:13-15 New International Version (NIV)
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
When you answer the door to God, you answer the call on your life. Your yes makes such a difference and people watch our lives. Our examples will last far after our lives on earth. Be kind one to another, share a smile and happiness of a new day. My thoughts and prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
