Jonah 2:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV)
Jonah’s Prayer and God’s Answer
Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. 2 And he said:
“I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction,
And He answered me.
“Out of the belly of Sheol I cried,
And You heard my voice.
3 For You cast me into the deep,
Into the heart of the seas,
And the floods surrounded me;
All Your billows and Your waves passed over me.
ANOTHER CHANCE ~
Jonah had another chance
Do you ever wonder what it will take for God to get your attention? Maybe not swallowed by a fish, but something big happens in your life. God wants a yes from each of us and a willingness to let go of our will. Trusting God and allowing him freedom to make and mold us daily, is another chance to show him our love. God begins a good work inside of us and he won't leave us.
Philippians 1:6 New International Version (NIV)
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
ANOTHER CHANCE ~
Each of us makes mistakes in life. The Bible says we have all sinned. Then we have a chance to come back to God and allow him to mold us even more. We can learn and grow from mistakes. But we don't always get a another chance to say I love you to someone. Something may happen suddenly and now they are gone to Heaven. Today, is a very good time to tell the Lord how you love him and thank him for your life. A new day brings new thoughts and new actions. Today, is a good time to tell someone you love them and show it.
I recently have gone through a big change in my family's life and my life. It changed me as a person. I see the importance even more to tell others I love them. I think of how my dad suddenly died from a heart attack when I was 18 years old. I always wanted another chance to hug him and say I love you. I took it for granted the time and emotions of showing my parents. I had just graduated high school and was going to enter college. My heart was broken and I had never saw a dead person in life. My dad was the first and I just wanted him back. No more second chances in that circumstance. I might say I love too much to others now, but it's who I am as a person. I always heard as a kid, "action speaks louder than words".
ANOTHER CHANCE ~
Today, seek the Lord with all your heart, tell him that I love him and grateful for all you do have in life. Things could be worse, but God knows exactly where you are and what you need. Seeking him brings a closeness and brings worship to him. It's not just about a song, but words that flow from the deep part of your heart. My very special song that brings peace to my mind is, "JESUS LOVES ME".
Just like Jonah's story goes on, so does yours. Whatever you have been through in life, let God use it for his glory. Let him change you daily and speak words I love you to others. Look into the mirror of your soul and call out with a grateful heart. Sometimes bad stuff just happens to good people. I may not know all the answers to life, but I do know in whom I trust. I am glad I have a new day, I can write you and share good thoughts. Another chance to say thank you for reading my blog, passing on and I hope you know that I pray daily for the readers of my blog, your family and friends.
John 13:34-35 New International Version (NIV)34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Purpose this a good day!
