Have you ever watched the waters of a lake go from calm to big waves? I experience this just last week. We were at a family lake house and the waves came up suddenly. It caused the boats to move up and down at a rapid pace. It was time to check how the boat were tied down. I want to use this example into our own lives. Things that cause us to sway back and forth. Things that overcome us at times and we need to feel our tie down moments are with God. Everything is secure and you wait out the waves.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 New International Version (NIV)
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
God is the creator of the land, waters and sky. He knows what is best for each of us and sends us down roads that are amazing. Just being able to be around someone you love, makes you feel that all is okay in life. It sometimes take time to look beyond your wave to see a calm.
Psalm 4 New International Version (NIV)
A psalm of David.
1 Answer me when I call to you,
my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress;
have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
2 How long will you people turn my glory into shame?
How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?
3 Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself;
the Lord hears when I call to him.
4 Tremble and do not sin;
when you are on your beds,
search your hearts and be silent.
5 Offer the sacrifices of the righteous
and trust in the Lord.
6 Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?”
Let the light of your face shine on us.
7 Fill my heart with joy
when their grain and new wine abound.
8 In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.
ALL THINGS WORK OUT ~
I had times in life when it felt like things wasn't going to work out. Things divide us from others in life. Big waves of our own lives and people just don't understand us. We must do what we must do in life and trust God beyond limits. Only God knows the intent of our hearts and has a plan for each. Jeremiah 29:11 holds true of a plan, a promise and a future. When things look dim, trust God. When things look great, trust God. Trusting God daily is the way I live life. I know that I'm not in control of all things and I purpose to keep peace within my heart. I hope you do this also. I'm not saying life is always easy, but we must face it with courage, wisdom and allow God to keep us in peace.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
