HELP IS ON THE WAY ~
Exodus 17:8-15 New International Version (NIV)
The Amalekites Defeated
8 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua,“Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”
10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. 11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.
12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.”
15 Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner.
Focus on verse 12 for a minute ~ Moses grew tired, but he had help to hold his hands up:
12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
ACTION ~ Encouragement and actions is important when we need it. Someone else can see the place we are in life and they come to the rescue. Jesus sends me onto our path to help us. We are not alone in life, even at times we might feel alone. Even the strongest person you know, needs prayer and encouargement. Just like Moses, a mighty man of God and yet grew tired. God makes us human and with need physical help and emotional help. So many things can run through my mind while sitting in a chair.
My life has grew from a broken place to a better place. There were times when I grew weary and just tired. I can see how God used my daughter (Tracy) to encourage me. I can see how God used people to enter my path with encouraging words too. I see the importance of action in a positive way and I try hard to encourage you through this blog. Maybe you are not the broken today or down, but you know someone who is. Encourage them today and hold their hands up through words plus action.
As I write this today, I feel God also stirring my heart to contact certain people today. Maybe a text message, a phone call or email. Any type of communication is showing someone you care. Sometimes we take people for granted and we should never do that. My brother taught me to live as if today was your last day, but plan for tomorrow. He (Ronnie) went to Heaven at 37 years old on Christmas Day. He had faith and he knew the timing of God. I witness a young man who needed his own hands lifted up at times and such a trust in God. There is someone about seeing things for your own eyes that changes you. I love him very much and miss him greatly. I can also use his words to help others.
Living life experieinces on the real side of life. God gives us many examples in the Bible and many overcomers of all things. We are human just like them and can learn of God's ways. God wants to use your life in a greater way. A true heart surrender and connecting with others. I value your time and thank you for reading this. There will be times when we need to tell ourselves, we are stronger than we think. You are important and your life matters. Let God use your good times and uglies of your life to help someone else. Be kind to yourself too! I'm holding you up in prayer today.
My prayers continue for you, your family and freinds.
