A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
Proverbs 17:22 King James Version (KJV)
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
As we move forward into a new day, we find ourselves facing new normals. Our Governor ordered a shelter in place for all of California. Staying away from others is the key in stopping this virus from spreading. I would highly advise you not to watch the news continually on TV. It can all become overwhelming and even put some fear inside of you. I know this, because I did it last night. My husband wanted to watch a special on the virus and within five minutes, I had to leave the room. He turned the channel but I knew I was already feeling scared. I can't watch the things on TV but I know that people are hurting, sick, scared, and it's getting worse. I am doing my part by praying for others and staying home. It's a hard time of life for lots of people.
STIR UP HOPE ~ I never thought about this scripture until today about temptation.
1 Corinthians 10:13 New International Version (NIV)
13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
The scripture says: no temptation
Today I am feeling that word temptation turn to the word fear. God has not given us the spirit of fear. Let us remember who is in charge and that God is faithful. Lets recall some great things God has already done in our lives and cast away fear. I can recall many healings and miracles in my life, my family and friends. When I think about it, it stirs up hope again. We must remember the things God has done and call up our faith to begin. It is good to put on a happy movie or music that makes you happy. Stir up positive thoughts and actions today. What can you do today for your own mental health? Purpose positive thoughts everyday of life.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. I'm not saying this shelter in place is easy, but it is necessary to keep people well. Do your best to stir up happy thoughts today.
