Life can be full of surprises. I get excited when I see fireworks high in the sky but not fond of the loud boom it brings. A mixture of smiles and holding my ears. I find it magical in many ways to see the sky light up. I can relate this to a diamond in the rough. Nobody knows the depth of it's beauty until it is seen.
A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH ~ Top definition
Someone (or something) that has hidden exceptional characteristics and/or future potential, but currently lacks the final touches that would make them (or it) truly stand out from the crowd.
After I read the definition of this, I can see how each of our lives are like this. There is something deep inside of each of us that God wants to bring out. It takes us allow him freedom to enter our hearts. Like fireworks in the sky and a measure beyond words. Our life examples are moments of teaching, learning, growing and developing daily. Our choices matter and we might never know the depth of our story to someone else.
THE BIBLE SAYS:
Malachi 3:17 New King James Version
17 “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
“On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
Genesis 2:7 ~
Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
YOU ARE A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH ~
GOD speaks of you being his jewel and he created you from the dust of the earth. Wow moments of how creation began and life continues on. I felt to write on this because we don't always see ourselves as a diamond or know our worth in life. Words matter and often times people speak without thinking and that just hurts. We loose site of who God created us to be and need that reminder. So here is your reminder today, you are important and your life matters more than you might realize.
You were created for purpose and for this day. It is the eve of Father's Day and that brings many memories to each of our lives. Some good memories and some hard memories. Some kids never knew their dad and it's hard to relate to a day of celebration tomorrow. No matter what your childhood was like, you might recall somedays of both good and hard. I find myself in wonder so many times of life. Then I find my mind going back to God's word that speaks of God's faithfulness and purposing life for each of us. God is spoke of as our Father and that's hard to image when you haven't seen him. It takes your heart to feel him and know he is real.
My heart goes out today on the eve to Father's Day for people who deal with loss of their father or grandfathers in Heaven. That missing link that held things together and now they are missing in our lives but never from our hearts. Good memories and blessings beyond words. I never knew my grandfathers or great grandfathers. But I heard stories of their lives and they were hard workers. Generations before us had harder times of lack of material things for sure. There were no cell phones for my grandparents, a time of no bathrooms inside of a house and not all the luxuries of 2015.
Let us today gives praise and thanks for people who went before us to prepare the way. There were actually diamonds in the rough and paved the way for our lives. Electricity came, cars, trains and so much more. People who went to war and many didn't return. Heroes in many ways and still shine bright on a day of caring for others. It wasn't just men but women as well. Many changes took place over time and many lives were changed for one person. A father, a man who isn't a dad but a man who holds morals and right actions to shine for others. It's hard on a day with a title and I know that for many.
I thank God for the my father who sacrificed so much for us. I didn't see it when I was young but I certainly see it now. He rest in Heaven and I follow his example of faith in God and lean not to my own understanding on things. You who read this will recall special moments today in life. Let the hard ones go my friends and hold onto a Father's love from God . His purpose for your life is huge and wants you happy. I thank you for taking time to read this and plant hope in this day. I care and my prayers continue for you, your families and friends.
YES ~ we are all diamonds in the rough but shine brighter than we will ever know!
