John 10:10 New International Version (NIV)
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Families would be changed forever and so many lives would be lost. The enemy comes to destroy and we saw how life stopped in a moment of time, it continues to live within our hearts. God doesn't give us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Yes, bad things happen to good people. Yes, we must guard ourselves and yet nothing has ever happened like 9/11. The one thing I did notice was how people pulled together during this day. People helping others and leading the way to be safe. Prayers went up and continued day after day. Faith had to come alive and trusting God would stop the attack on our country.
Luke 17:6 New International Version (NIV)
He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
LET US PRAY:
God, help us to see how far our country has come since September 11, 2001. Help families today that continue to mourn their loss of family and friends. Many loss co-workers and people we cared about on earth that day. Nothing is too big for you and it has scars hearts of many. Things people have seen can replay. Help those who need a new beginning this day and press forward in life. Much sadness will be felt today and memories. You are a healer of broken hearts. Help us to purpose this a good day God, Help first responders and those who saw hard things that day. Our mind remember dates, times and places. Only you God can restore and help us on this day of rememberance. AMEN
Alan Jackson wrote a song about this day: Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning.
Take a few minutes to listen to it on youtube.
It's time to turn our thoughts to God and allow him to bring peace on a hard day to remember. It has been 18 years now and it feels like today that this happened. Help us as we continue to move forward God. My prayers continue for all today and everyday.
